Ctrip Website Attacked

Official word is that around 11:00 this morning some pages of the Ctrip website were attacked and could not be opened. As of right now the Ctrip website is still undergoing emergency repairs, and the estimated repair time is unknown… According to a few friends in QQ groups, Ctrip this time was hit by a physical-deletion attack: as soon as code is uploaded to the server it is automatically deleted. Technicians in every role are working overtime on emergency repairs, and the cause still hasn’t been found. A while back NetEase was attacked for unknown reasons and some features stopped working; yesterday Alipay couldn’t complete payments because a fiber optic cable was dug through (the official explanation). Was this May destined to be an extraordinary month for the internet. What is physical deletion? Physical deletion means the magnetic storage area used for file storage is truly erased or zeroed out, so files deleted that way cannot be recovered.
